Dynamic Visual Music Intervention System



Dynamic Visual Music Intervention System can boost the integration of auditory sense, visual sense, and somatosensory since it brings many kinds of sensory stimulation together such as changes of sounds, melody, rhythm, color and body vibration, etc. As brain’s potential can be explored to the full extent though these kinds of stimulation, clients will be waked up, motivated, feel comfortable or even experience catharsis of emotion etc. Moreover, the stimulation can also accelerate the establishment of sensory pathways, therefore the coordination and the flexibility of clients’ movements will also be promoted.

Dynamic Visual Music Intervention System contains 4 chapters: childlike, cartoon, frequency spectrum and audio-visual association

Childlike chapter contains eleven modules whose main topic is relaxing and pleasant. It contains both visual and auditory materials. Visual materials are composed of numerous pictures and videos which have sketching, mirroring, cartooning and unreal image effects. Meanwhile auditory materials include natural sounds and music played by different musical instruments. Clients can experience dispersal and catharsis of emotion by having some very interesting audio-visual appreciation in this chapter.

Cartoon chapter contains materials of four topics. Its major visual materials are videos, combined with a variety of artistic methods such as sculpture, imagination, multimedia and other techniques, having mirroring-sketching, tricolor, scrolling and embossing four kinds of picture effect. Therefore it helps clients to understand more directly, easily and pleasantly in a visual way. At the same time it helps clients develop the coordination between visual sense and auditory sense.

Frequency spectrum chapter contains eight natural scenery themes, using a large number of world-famous and distinctive viewing materials which are then combined with familiar music and nature sounds. Thus, it gives clients audio-visual double impacts. In this chapter music materials are largely depended on effects of frequency pictures. The color of frequency spectrum match with music types (positive, neutral and negative). The color of frequency effects indicates the energy level of frequency spectrum. Here, music time signals are converted to frequency signals, so that clients’ rational thinking modes will be induced and this inducing effect can be measured by various parameters and indicators.

Audio-visual association chapter (only available for three screens) In this, each music fragment has a picture possessing special meanings, dual display technology (that means real picture on the left/right screen and pictures having effects on the right/left screen) is used for training. With this technology, reconstructions of real scene can be achieved. Audio-visual association makes clients have different feelings while listening to music, it will help clients to vent their mood, relive pressure, remove depression, change state of mind and finally let clients feel relaxed and comfortable. While listening to music, client’s imagination will be unlimitedly stimulated. Thereby, client’s emotional state will be improved, and in a further way, client’s physiological state will be promoted.

Product function:

1.       Emotional Intervention: Giving consideration to color and change of frequency displayed on the screen, the music in the system is divided into three types: positive, neutral and negative. Positive music has obvious rhythm, fast speed and many staccato in melody; neutral music has steady rhythm, moderate speed and smooth melody; negative music, however, has no obvious rhythm, slow speed and many extended sounds. Therapists are able to choose just one of these types or mix them in order to wake up and motivate clients’ emotion as well as make them feel comfortable.

2.       Brian wave abduction: Using brain waves embedded principle: physiological (EEG) resonance is induced by sounds, images and other physical stimulations. Brain waves are imported in brain in auditory and visual frequency difference, then the brain follows one specific frequency and be locked on this frequency. As a result, many good emotional experiences will be promoted. For example, in order to calm down anxiety patients, binaural music and stereo videos are used to induce them. Since there are 8Hz difference frequency between left and right channels in the music and 8Hz difference frequency of the video in its stereoscopic depth, therefore 8Hz α wave is induced in the brain, making client feel relaxed and pleasant. .

3.       Perceptual integration: Using real-time video signal processing and multi-screen dynamic display technology. Pictures and videos reserved in the system, which have been transformed by sketching, mirroring, cartooning and other image treatments, are presented sequentially from unreal situation to real one. During the observation of symmetry and abstract graphics, the ability of perceptual integration will be awakened which will later gradually applied to the real world.

4.       Somatosensory trainingPromoting the integration of auditory, visual sense, and somatosensory. The system combines frequency-effect music, abundant changeable light and rhythmically vibrating floor so that rhythmic sensibility will be waked to the greatest extent and desire of physical exercise will also be largely stimulated. With the instruction of therapists, clients can have some rhythmic activities or dance practices.
